How a Negative Post or Comment Can Help a Social Media Profile for a Business
Any business that engages in social media will get its fair share of angry or unhappy customers; there are many ways to handle the comments professionally, but many companies overlook the benefits of negative feedback.
Negative feedback can be turned into a satisfied customer, as long as it is handled to the customer’s satisfaction. Let’s take a look at the positive benefits of negative comments.
They Care
This fact is the most important thing of all. Your customer cares about your business! If they didn’t give a hoot, they would just complain about the business behind closed doors. The fact that they are coming to your business’ profile and complaining is a sheer sign that they want a resolution, so they can continue to do business.
Show Your Skills
An angry comment is an excellent way to show your business’ skills and abilities. Take it from me! Designing a website takes work, but I would say 10 out of 10 times that it takes a new problem in website design (ie. Fixing a Broken WordPress Dashboard or Needing a Dollar Sign in a RSForm Paypal Form) to truly test my skills and see if I still have what it takes. Test your abilities, find the best solution for your customer, and you may end up with a devout follower and loyal customer. Also, everyone who follows your business will see how well you can help them as well.
You Care
When you remove a customer’s problem and give them a satisfactory solution, you show the rest of your potential customers that they are not just another number, and that you really care about their business. People often show their true personality in times of pressure and how they handle it; businesses are no exception. Customers are watching and judging your every move! Ask Netflix just how badly customers can turn on them. The bright side is that if you actually support your customers, and care about their needs, you will develop a loyal following.
Finding a positive solution to any sort of negativity is not just a good business practice, but a life lesson to have for the rest of your life. Keep that in mind with all of your business dealings and your business will be the better for it!
